Earthquakes in Türkiye Türkiye was hit by multiple earthquakes with magnitudes 7.8 and 7.4 on the Richter scale in the early morning hours on February 6. Hundreds of thousands are likely to be trapped under the rubble. Significant aftershocks continue to be felt preventing people from returning to even undamaged buildings. The damage, known to have killed thousands of people and injured even more, reached an unprecedented scale in the region.
